Whalley Arches Lodge takes its name from the famous railway structure that passes over the Calder Valley close by the Abbey. It is a daytime lodge meeting at 10.30 am on the second Monday of September, November, March and June. The Installation takes place at the September meeting.
Being a daytime lodge Whalley Arches attracts those Freemasons who find evening meetings difficult to attend.
Our image above was taken on the occasion of Worshipful Brother Rennie Wellock’s (centre) Golden Jubilee in Freemasonry on 9 March 2020. To his right is the Worshipful Master of Whalley Arches and to his left is Worshipful Brother Alan H Kirwilliam, PSGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master for the Province of East Lancashire who took the Chair during the Lodge meeting. More images of the occasion can be viewed on our photo archive here.
